Sabah, 22 th May 2005 ¨C Cyber X in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, a New Era Games Club member was the battleground for the Dawn of War Sabah State Preliminary tournament. A total of 12 teams of two players gathered that early Sunday morning, after many nights of practice to finally to see which could pledge their undying loyalty to the Emperor.
Teams came from all over Sabah, bearing ¡®leet¡¯ names such Army of Heaven & Hell, Lego, Illusion, The Dominator and NoobHammer. |

The tournament started at 11am, with all 12 teams squaring off with one another. Most teams started off cautiously as they had little challenge opportunities to play with, securing strategic locations located within the vicinity of their base and expanded later on when they all had a larger force. Some interesting strategies were seen, some employed rush-like tactics to knock off their opponents early in the game!
The 12 teams fought off in a best of 3 matches, giving ample opportunities to learn and understand their opponents. With the 12 team structure, it narrowed down to six and then finally the top three were decided at: NoobHammer, K.A.O.S., and Army of Heaven & Hell. |

The top three teams squared off in a league system, with the best of three matches against each opponent to decide who will walk away with the grand prize of RM 500 and to participate in the Official National Finals in Kuala Lumpur.
After a long gruesome and tiring battle, NoobHammer's courageous valiant efforts were not enough to defeat the enemies, landing in 2nd runner up. K.A.O.S. had put up a strong contest to Army of Heaven & Hell, but in the end it was wrath of heaven that won. K.A.O.S. won 1st runner up and the champions were Army of Heaven & Hell.
All the other heretics and marines who failed did not go home empty handed; a goodie bag each with a limited premium from New Era was presented for their heroic and bold efforts.
The champions, Army of Heaven & Hell will represent Sabah and the Eastern region in the Dawn of War Official National Tournament to be held in Low Yat Plaza concourse, this June 10th to 12th.They will be competing from the semi finals along with state champions from Melaka and Penang against the top 4 teams from the KL preliminaries on Sunday the 12th. |
